PROSPECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ROPE FARMING IN THE ODESSA REGION

The purpose of the article is to study the future prospects of the economic and technological development of rapeseed production in the Odessa region under modern conditions.
The scientific novelty of the research lies in the proposed economic-technological direction of development of the branch for the future.
An analysis of rapeseed export was carried out. It was revealed that the share of exports in the 2022-2023 financial year in Ukraine will increase to 89% under the optimistic scenario, and up to 96% under the pessimistic scenario. It was established that the share of rape seed processing in Ukraine is extremely small. EU countries, where Ukrainian rapeseed is exported, process it into biofuel. The energy problem in Ukraine and the world is growing. Among the oil crops, rapeseed became popular among Ukrainian farmers not so long ago. But over the past 22 years, the situation has changed under the influence of external factors: in 2021, the cultivated area under rapeseed in farms of all categories in Ukraine increased by 4.7 times. The level of crop productivity in Ukraine remains low. Odessa region is one of the leaders in the production of rapeseed in Ukraine. But the average level of productivity in Odessa region is low compared to other regions due to drought. The decrease in the profitability of rapeseed production is due to the increase in production costs and the variability of the sale price of seeds.
Conclusions. In order to flexibly respond to all challenges, we suggest that the farmers of Odessa region switch to the cultivation of rapeseed using resource-saving technologies that involve minimal tillage: no-till and strip-till. These technologies will minimize production costs in the future, and will also increase the level of crop productivity. In Ukraine, the further development of the rapeseed industry should take place through changes in the legislative framework and balanced support from the state in the direction of increasing the volume of seed processing in the country and exporting not raw materials, but finished oil and biofuel.
